Surface America incorporates the industry’s widest collection of recycled materials into our surfacing systems. Surface America utilizes pre-consumer, post-consumer, pre-industrial and post-industrial recycled material components. Most of the recycled material is rubber from post-consumer tires, called SBR (Styrene Butadiene Rubber).

When a Surface America system is installed, wheelchairs and crutches negotiate the playground without difficulty, thus conforming to the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act and ASTM F-1951-99 Determination of Playground Surface Accessibility.
